Akamai does more than content caching

Joel Spolsky Wrote in his blog how the Akamai IP Application Acceleration improved performance of Copilot. That’s interesting.

The idea is that Akamai must have some better trick to do IP routing. I think this has much to <> to their relation to global ISPs. After all they are the biggest content caching provider. They have a better position in negotiating prices and offerings than other network user, whether ordinary user or small-to-medium companies.

At least from this perspective everyone is not equal on the internet.

原來這年頭私釀版的 Firmware 這麼盛行，連數位相機都有:

Canon Hack Development Kit

直接經由 firmeare Update 的界面執行，所以不會蓋掉原本的firmware, 不用擔心相機被變成磚頭。

當中對個人而言最實用的大概是 Real-time histogram, 在手動拍照時可以檢查曝光程度。還有電池電量顯示。這些都是實用的功能，但都被 Canon 留了一手。
